This work by one of Britains most well known writers of the turn of the century presents his findings resulting from his involvement in occultism, spiritualism and psychism. Doyle was heavily involved in the spiritualist movement and rubbed shoulders with many of the prominent occultists of the day. A personal friend of Harry Houdini, Doyle attempts to prove in this work that Houdinis abilities as a magician and illusionist were actually the result of occult and supernatural powers rather than simple trickery. This text also contains many first hand accounts of supernatural phenomena, including spirit manifestations, sances and the use of psychic powers to name a few. A very interesting read.
